Summary of February is National Eating Disorders Awareness Month

February is National Eating Disorders Awareness Month The goal of National Eating Disorders Awareness month is to start a conversation around things that are hard to talk about, and therefore often not discussed. Many people have a difficult relationship with food, body image, exercise and appearance. It is because of stigma and shame that many do not get the help they need, and deserve. Whether it is you, a friend, relative, or loved one, join the discussion to increase awareness, identify resources and find help. The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) will be hosting their annual NEDAwareness Week from February 25 – March 3. Their 2019 theme, Come As You Are, invites everyone, especially those whose stories have not been widely recognized, to have the opportunity to speak out, share their experiences, and connect with others. So this month, we invite you to come as you are, not as you think you should be!
